I. DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE ACTIVITIES THAT EMPHASIZE MOTOR AND FOUNDATIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT:
A clear understanding of an athlete’s developmental level (as opposed to his or her age) will help coaches, parents, and administrators appropriately tailor youth golf training, skills, and tactics taught to maximize an individual’s full potential while helping avoid burnout. In order to succeed in golf lessons, participants must first learn foundational motor skills and technique. Coaches, parents, and administrators who jump directly into competition tactics and strategy without emphasizing basic fundamentals may put their athletes at a disadvantage. To ensure long-term success, participants must be given adequate time and knowledge to develop these essential building blocks for success.
II. ENCOURAGE MULTI-SPORT PARTICIPATION:
Multi-sport participation is critical to developing a well-rounded foundation for physical activity that can transfer between sports, including golf. Encouraging children to participate in multiple sport activities at a young age offers them the opportunity to explore, play, and discover sport according to their personal interests and skill level. Multi-sport play also provides several cross-training benefits for all—such as strength, endurance, agility, coordination, and speed training—that enhances athleticism and promotes a healthy lifestyle. Athletes, including those involved in youth golf training, also benefit from the social and psychological impact of multi-sport participation.
III. FUN, ENGAGING AND CHALLENGING ATMOSPHERE:
A fun, engaging, and challenging environment is essential for any sport activity, including golf lessons. The definition of “fun” may change as participants advance to more elite levels of competition, but a standard emphasis on making the process positive and enjoyable is key. Free and spontaneous play is encouraged to help foster growth and development. By offering the opportunity for unstructured play, athletes are more likely to customize physical activity to meet their needs and keep the fun in sport intact. A fun, engaging, and challenging atmosphere encourages long-term golfers and that translates to long-term customers.
IV. QUALITY COACHING AT ALL AGE LEVELS:
Quality coaching is critical to athlete development; therefore, quality coaching education is imperative for athlete success at all levels, especially in golf lessons. Quality coaching not only requires a PGA certified professional to be qualified and highly knowledgeable about their sport, but also to understand effective communication, practice planning, and athlete development. The very best coaches view themselves as lifelong learners and are always working toward improving themselves.

The academy is open to kids of all ages. Conducted by a PGA professional, this academy consists of our highly popular group instruction through PGA Junior League participation and our junior academy camps. Individual instruction is also available. Each student's improvement plan is customized based on their performance in the initial evaluation. The academy's curriculum covers essential skills including the full swing, short game, putting, and mental game performance training. Additionally, students will engage in weekly skills tests and competitions, along with on-course instruction and effective course management strategies. PGA Junior League:
We believe that every child can be a golfer. All skill levels are welcome, and no prior golf experience is required to participate in the program.
PGA Jr. League includes three age divisions: 9u, 13u and 17u.
Families are encouraged to take an active role as spectators and volunteers within their local league.
Teams are part of leagues, organized together so that games can be played and local league standings can be kept.
These in-house leagues include multiple teams that practice and play at the same facility each week, though we may travel to other facilities for friendly matches or Play Days.
PGA Junior League Format
Each team is broken down into two-person pairs (or three if a substitute is included) who play together in games.
All PGA Jr. League games are played in a two-person scramble format. This means that both players in a pair hit drives. The best shot is selected, then each player plays from the selected spot, and this process continues until the ball is holed.
The scramble format is key in allowing everyone to hit shots and contribute to the team. PGA Jr. League utilizes match play scoring, which focuses on performance vs. a score-to-par as is traditional with golf.
Within a PGA Jr. League game, pairs play in a head-to-head, 9-hole match. Each match is broken into three flags. Each flag is three holes in a row, and each team has the opportunity to earn points at the end of each flag.
LIMITED SPACE IS AVAILABLE. ALL FEES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

"Coach Eric has been fantastic with our son. He’s only been working with him for about a year, but the improvement has been incredible. Before working with Coach Eric, playing a real round of golf together wasn’t really possible. Now, he can absolutely keep me on my toes!
Even more important than the improvement in his game is the way Coach Eric makes golf fun while teaching respect for the game, good sportsmanship, and confidence. Our son genuinely enjoys going to lessons and playing golf, and as a parent, that’s what we appreciate most. Coach Eric has helped turn golf into something we can enjoy together as a family, and we couldn’t recommend him more highly."
Coe Davis
"Coach Eric has been excellent helping my 9 year old daughter improve her posture and swing. Her golf game has improved immensely, and I highly recommend him not just for kids, but adults as well."
Amy Stubblefield
"Coach Eric has been absolutely amazing with our 8 year old son. He has an incredible gift for making golf fun and engaging while still teaching the fundamentals of the game. We've seen a huge improvement in our son's swing, but more importantly, we've seen his love for the sport grow. We highly recommend Coach Eric to any parent looking for a patient and knowledgeable instructor!"
Brody Doggett - Current Member of the University of Central Oklahoma Golf Team
"I've been working with Coach Eric since I was in 7th grade, and he has played a huge role in making me the golfer I am today. So much of what I've learned about the game has come from him, and I've always trusted what he teaches and taken his advice to heart. Putting has always been one of his strengths as a coach. He taught me the importance of the fundamentals, especially having a good grip, keeping the putter level and square, and understanding speed and distance control. What really stood out to me, especially when I was younger, was how he always kept learning fun. whether we were doing drills, practicing on the putting green, or playing together, there was always something to learn without feeling like work. Alot of the confidence and ability I have with a putter today comes from the years I've spent learning from him. I wouldn't be the golfer or putter I am today without his coaching, and I'm extremely thankful for everything he has taught me over the years."

"My son has been taking golf lessons from Stacy Mapel, a PGA certified professional, for about 5 months. He has been instrumental in helping my son with his golf swing and the mental aspect of the game. His detailed approach in youth golf training truly shows how much he cares about his students. If you want to elevate your game, I would highly recommend Stacy Mapel."
Corbin Franco - Former Member of the Ranger College Golf Team & Former #1 Player - Burleson Centennial High School Golf Team
"Stacy Mapel, PGA Instructor, is more than just a swing coach. He has enhanced all parts of my game including my short game, ball striking, swing technique, putting, and mental strategies. His focus on strength and fitness in youth golf training has been invaluable. He believes in his students and always encourages you to reach your fullest potential and achieve your golfing goals. I can't thank him enough for the amazing improvement he has brought to my game."
Ryan Siddique – Former Member of the University of Texas at Dallas Golf Team
"I started working with Stacy when I was 17 years old. After high school, I walked on to the University of Texas at Dallas golf team. I played in my first N.C.A.A. tournament at the John Bohmann Memorial Tournament in Saledo, Texas, and earned Medalist honors with rounds of 67-69=136. Recently, I tied for first alternate position for the Texas State Open at Holly Tree C.C. in Tyler, Texas with a round of 70 (-2). I couldn't have achieved these milestones without Stacy’s expert guidance. I highly recommend him!"
Charles Pantangco - Former Member of the University of Texas at Dallas Golf Team
"When I began lessons with Stacy, I was a college golfer with a swing that was effective only 70% of the time and a weak mental game. My scores would fluctuate from 74 on a good day to 85 on a bad day. My misses were noticeable, and my swing struggled under pressure during final rounds of college tournaments. Working with Stacy has improved every aspect of my game. Just three months into my training, I shot my best two-day total of 72-71=143 in tough weather to finish Runner-up at the Hendrix College Spring Classic in Danville, Arkansas. I can genuinely say that working with Stacy has not only improved my on-course performance but also his mental coaching has benefited me off the course. He goes the extra mile and dedicates time to help you grow as a player. His passion for youth golf training and instruction is truly evident."
